According to WHO (World Health Organization) traditional medicine is the sum total of knowledge, skills and practices based on the theories, beliefs and experiences indigenous to different cultures. These are used to keep people healthy and to prevent, diagnose, treat and cure mental and physical illnesses.

Chinese medicine uses acupuncture for this purpose which is to intervene on specific points of the body to regulate the functions of internal organs, meridians, qi, blood and body fluids to prevent or treat disease.

This approach is as holistic as the human body. In addition to acupuncture, it uses moxibustion (mugwort treatments) and other tools such as Tui Na (Chinese massage and osteopathy), advice on food hygiene, pharmacopoeia, Chi Nei Tsang (treatment of internal organs) , Qi gong (Chinese gymnastics)...

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a medicine in itself. It is a good addition to general medicine and vice versa.
